Our Honeymoon is a fabulous trip to Scotland! We have decided to do a self drive trip with our journey starting in Edinburgh. We will arrive on the 23rd of May and stay 2 nights on the Waterfront exploring Harry Potter sites, the local library for genealogy research and sight seeing using the Hop on Hop Off bus!

We will pick up our rental car on the 25th of May so that we can start our morning off with a Hot Air Balloon flight! Amanda is really looking forward to this adventure. The hot air flight a half day excursion that ends with a champagne toast! We will then head out on our adventures, driving on the "wrong" side of the road to Fort Williams.

After a day of sightseeing and adventure we will end the day at the beautiful Rua Reidh Lighthouse, where we will stay in the Lighthouse quarters for two days!! This is the highlight of our honeymoon and truly romantic. The Lighthouse is the most dramatic and remote locations on the north-west coast of Scotland with breath-taking views across the Minch to the Isle of Skye. We plan on enjoying the peace and tranquility of the area along with taking in a few hikes and hoping for some great photography of the local wildlife.

On May 28th we head back to Edinburgh and will be staying on the Royal Mile. Here until we depart on the 31st. While we are back in Edinburgh, Ashley will play golf at the World Famous St. Andrews Golf Course! He is really looking forward to this adventure. We also plan on tackling the Royal Mile Bike Tour - we will be cycling along with a guide for about 18 km! We will cycle through UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Edinburgh Castle and the heart of the city! This should be quite the adventure :)

We will post lots of pictures and share our adventures with all of you!

We'll take a trip to Urquhart Castle a magnificent castle that dates back to the 14th Century and was once a garrison that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it's a popular place with "Nessie" hunters; in fact there have been more sightings from the castle than anywhere else! We will explore the castle and keep a close watch for Nessie and a camera ready - just in case!
